L70 Labs / App Development

App Development

A working app in about six weeks, from $5,000.

Not a prototype, not a Figma file. A real application in the store or on the web, with a backend, a database, authentication and payments if you need them. We have shipped our own products this way, which is why the timeline is a commitment rather than an estimate.

From $5,000, then $490 a month

The monthly covers maintenance, fixes and operating system updates. Fixed project price quoted before we start.

What is included

  • A working MVP in about six weeks, in the store or live on the web
  • Native iOS, native Android or a web application, whichever fits the problem
  • Backend, database and authentication built and hosted
  • App Store and Play Store submission handled, including the review back and forth
  • Payments and subscriptions wired in where the product needs them
  • Updates, bug fixes and operating system upgrades handled on the monthly plan

We build our own products too

L70 Labs ships its own applications, not only client work. Alfred Concierge is a live iOS concierge app with a venue database and a booking pipeline. Trak is a tracking device product with a companion iOS app and BLE pairing. Pick1 is a live predictions product on the web and iOS.

That matters for one practical reason: we have already hit the problems your project will hit. App Store review rejections, subscription edge cases, push notification delivery, database migrations on a live product. Those are the things that turn a six week build into a six month one when a team meets them for the first time.

How the pricing works

$5,000 is the floor, not the average. It buys a focused MVP: one clear job the app does well, for one type of user, on one platform. Most real projects land above it, and we tell you where before you commit rather than discovering it halfway through.

You get a fixed project price after the brief, not an hourly rate that drifts. If the scope changes mid build we requote that change in writing before doing it.

How it works

Brief and fixed quote

You describe the product. We come back within one business day with a fixed price, a scope and what we would cut from version one.

Build in the open

You see working builds as they happen, not a reveal at the end. Changes are cheapest in week two, not week six.

Ship and maintain

Store submission, launch, then the monthly plan keeps it running as operating systems change under it.

Questions we get asked

How much does it cost to build an app?

Ours start at $5,000 for a focused MVP and most real projects land between $5,000 and $20,000. The wide industry range you see quoted, often $30,000 to $150,000, usually reflects agency overhead and a scope nobody constrained. We quote a fixed price after reading your brief.

How long does it take to build an app?

About six weeks to a working MVP. More complex products take longer and we tell you that upfront. The six week figure assumes you can give feedback within a day or two when we ask.

iOS, Android or web, which should I choose?

It depends on who your users are and what the app must do. If you need camera, Bluetooth, background location or heavy push behaviour, native wins. If your users are on desktop as often as mobile, or you want one codebase to start, web is usually faster and cheaper. We give you a recommendation with the quote, and the reasoning behind it.

Do you handle the App Store submission?

Yes, including the review process and the rejections that often come with a first submission. You need an Apple Developer account in your own name, $99 a year paid by you, so the app belongs to you.

What does the $490 a month maintenance cover?

Hosting and backend costs, bug fixes, security patches, and keeping the app working as iOS and Android release new versions. Mobile apps break silently when the operating system moves under them, which is why maintenance is not optional the way it is for a brochure website.

Do I own the code?

Yes. The repository, the backend and every account are yours, in your name. You can take the project to another team at any point.
